All proceeds will go to the scholarship fund, from which families of youth and teens may apply for needed funding. We hope that, with this new fund, youth and teens can apply for assistance to child care programs, positive places and athletics which will introduce them to new experiences and safe places they might not otherwise be able to enjoy. Many other Parks & Recreation Departments have such funds, and Staunton does get calls asking about assistance. Currently there is no such scholarship fund, and we need the community's help to us establish a means to provide needed services for Staunton's youth. The fund will be used to subsidize underprivileged local youth/teens participation in our recreation, afterschool and summer camp programs. Staunton Parks & Recreation will be holding a Golf Tournament at Gypsy Hill on Saturday, October 1 to raise money for a Youth and Teen Scholarship fund. STAUNTON, VA ()(readMedia)- The Let's Make Staunton Great For Kids Scholarship Golf Tournament is Saturday, October 1.
